About UK Fee Comparison

A specialist, independent editorial website focused on UK investment platform fee data. Newly launched in 2026.

What this site is

UK Fee Comparison is a newly launched independent editorial website. It compares fees across UK investment platforms — specifically Stocks & Shares ISAs, SIPPs, and General Investment Accounts — using data sourced directly from each platform's official published fee pages.

The site is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or paid by any investment platform it features. It is not part of a wider financial services business. It does not provide financial advice, and it is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to do so.

The site was built with a single purpose: to make UK investment platform fee data easier to understand, verify, and compare — with honest labelling of what is confirmed and what is uncertain.

What we do

Collect fee data from official platform charge pages, not from aggregators or third parties
Record the source URL and date of verification for every fee in our dataset
Mark data as VERIFIED or NEEDS_VERIFICATION — we do not publish fees as fact if we haven't confirmed them
Show fee caps, flat-fee structures, and account bundling where these change the real annual cost
Publish a correction log when fee data changes or errors are found
Aim to re-verify all fees quarterly, or sooner when a pricing change is announced

What we don't do

We do not provide personalised financial advice or recommend any investment platform to any individual
We do not claim FCA authorisation — we are not FCA authorised
We do not rank platforms by anything other than published fee data
We do not accept payment for rankings or editorial positions
We do not compare customer service, app quality, investment universe, or platform suitability
We do not claim established traffic, authority, or audience size we do not yet have

Our data scope

The current dataset covers 11 UK investment platforms with annual platform fees for a passive ETF investor in a Stocks & Shares ISA, shown at four portfolio sizes (£5,000, £20,000, £50,000, £100,000). All fees were last verified on 28 June 2026.

We currently cover: InvestEngine, Freetrade Basic, Trading 212, Lightyear, XTB, Dodl by AJ Bell, AJ Bell, Vanguard UK, Hargreaves Lansdown, interactive investor, and Fidelity.

We plan to extend coverage over time. Platforms not yet in our dataset are excluded because we have not yet independently verified their fee data — not because they are unsuitable.

Commercial relationships

UK Fee Comparison may in future participate in affiliate programmes with platforms it covers. If and when affiliate relationships are established:

  • All commercial relationships will be disclosed clearly on every page where they apply
  • Commercial relationships will not determine rankings, table positions, or editorial content
  • No affiliate link will appear on this site until the standard affiliate disclosure wording is present on all relevant pages

At the time of this page's publication, no affiliate links are live on this site.

Limitations

This site has genuine limitations you should be aware of.

The site is newly launched and does not have an established track record. Fee data is as accurate as we can make it on the verification date shown, but fees change. Always verify current fees directly at the platform's own website before making any decision.

We compare platform service fees only. We do not compare fund management charges (OCF/TER), trading commissions, FX fees (beyond noting them), customer service, platform stability, regulatory history, or investment universe. These are all important factors in choosing an investment platform.

This is not financial advice. It is not a recommendation. It is not a suitability assessment. The cheapest platform on a fee basis is not automatically the right platform for you.
